While we sat at the kitchen table, she asked: “How do we start?” I replied: “Right here. Just as we are now.” While we were getting to know each other, she looked like she already sat in a portrait. So that’s what I wanted to capture first. I clicked twice on the shutter button and turned the screen on the back of my camera towards her so she could see how she looked through my eyes.
From there, we moved through the kitchen and around the house, capturing whatever caught our eyes: produce, flowers, wood for the fire. And in this process we created a series of frames telling little of stories of life in this moment.
